Sea Turtles

From the Series Life Under the Sea

In Sea Turtles, early readers will learn how sea turtles lay eggs, and how the eggs hatch and babies grow. Vibrant, full-color photos and carefully leveled text will engage early readers as they discover how baby sea turtles find their way to sea.

A labeled diagram helps readers identify a sea turtle’s body parts, while a picture glossary reinforces new vocabulary. Children can learn more about sea turtles online using our safe search engine that provides relevant, age-appropriate websites. Sea Turtles also features reading tips for teachers and parents, a table of contents, and an index.

Sea Turtles is part of Jump!’s Life Under the Sea series.

Library Media Connection (Carrie Randall)

Each book reviewed contains vivid, color photographs of each title animal, its habitat, and related animals. Every close-up photograph provides great detail, such as the multiple colors that make up a crab’s claws. Topics covered include parts of the body, mating and/or how babies are born, predators, habitat environments, and different species types. Each page or page spread features one new fact, stated in simple, concise sentences. At the end of each book there is a “Learn More” section that includes a website with directions on how to search. This is a nice and safe feature for beginning web explorers. The titles in this series are recommended for collections in need of more primary nonfiction selections. Recommended.
